The Pleiger Group
Paul Pleiger Maschinenfabrik was founded in 1925 by Paul Pleiger in Sprockhövel, Germany. The company initially produced pneumatic valves and fittings for the mining sector. Some time later, the company began manufacturing pneumatic mining pumps. In 1937, mechanical manufacturing commenced at the new plant in Witten-Herbede.
Pleiger Expands Its Horizons
During the tremendous economic growth in Germany in the 1950s, the company expanded its production range to include hydraulic radial piston motors and rotary actuators as well as control valves, and later centrifugal pumps for raw water.
Electronics, Plastics and Laser Optics
During the same period, the company took up the production of plastics and was one of the first manufacturers of cast polyurethane elastomers. In the following years, the manufacture of electronic systems and optical components for the laser industry began.

The Evolution into the Pleiger Group of Companies
In 1996, the now strongly diversified company spun off its individual divisions as independent companies (Pleiger Group of Companies). The development of new markets, the introduction of new products, and overseas activities led to significant growth with three production sites in Germany as well as further locations in China, South Korea, and the USA.
